The communications team at AUB’s Issam Fares Institute for Public Policy and International Affairs is a dynamic and exciting work environment. It is responsible for the execution of the Institute’s events, the finalizing and publishing of its publications, maintaining the Institute’s brand identity, and generally contributing to the overall visibility of the Institute. The Digital Communications Assistant will be overseeing the website, various forms of digital production and promotion, and assisting in many other communications efforts.
Principal Responsibilities
- Regularly uploading and updating content to the Institute’s website
- Promoting Institute events, announcements, and other news items through the benchmark email system
- Regularly uploading and updating content to the internal Sharepoint system
- Creating and updating promotional event materials
- Archiving and securing Institute’s multimedia files (audio, video, etc.)
- Editing audio files of events and uploading them on Sound Cloud
- Assisting events coordinator with the logistics of the Institute’s events (handling A/V and other technical issues)
- Assisting the communications manager and other Institute staff with general communications issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- One to three years’ work experience preferred
- Knowledge of website editing (HTML language) essential
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Sharepoint platform
- Familiarity with basic design software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) preferred
- Familiarity with Benchmark mailing system
- Excellent command of English and Arabic
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills
Duration
This is a part-time position for a six-month period (with possibility of renewal).
