Georgetown University in Qatar aims to recruit a faculty member in Arabic Language and Linguistics for a core faculty position at GU-Q. Core faculty positions are full-time positions designed to replicate the institutional commitment to academic freedom and professional opportunities associated with tenure-track appointments.
The nominal teaching load is 2-2 for core faculty. Colleagues who earn senior core faculty status are eligible to apply for periodic research sabbaticals.
We seek applications from colleagues at the ranks of associate and full professor. We are particularly interested in hearing from colleagues with previous experience as a program director, center director or department chairperson. We are also interested in hearing from colleagues with previous experience teaching Arabic to heritage language learners.
Applicants at advanced rank must have substantial research accomplishments and evidence of active research agendas, and outstanding teaching credentials.
