The Asfari Institute for Civil Society and Citizenship at the American University of Beirut is looking to hire two Program officers to support the Institute’s work, both in the field of Transnational Social Movements (TSM) and the Role of Civil Society in Post-conflict Settings. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years of experience, be dynamic team players with the ability to work independently, and build filing and documentation systems and wide networks of research and advocacy.
Title: Program Officer for the Transnational Social Movements Program and Program Officer for the Role of Civil Society in Post-conflict Settings Program (For Lebanese or having a residency in Lebanon)
Qualifications

A graduate degree (MA or equivalent) + 5 years of work experience in I-NGOs or Academia.

High level of proficiency in both oral and written English and Arabic, French is needed as well.

Proven records of research analysis skills, publications, and previous experience in program management.

Capacity to work in a multi-task work environment and provide substantive and logistical support to programs, including lectures, seminars, and conferences.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the TSM or the Role of Civil Society in Post-conflict Settings research program activities.
- Assist in organizing workshops, readers, reports, and commissioning policy papers.
- Manage research data collection and design, and build research working groups.
- Report to the AI Director on a weekly basis.
Duration: 12 months (renewable)
Remuneration: AUB-Asfari Institute rates
