The Carnegie Middle East Center's Program on Civil Military Relations in Arab States (CMRAS) seeks a Research Manager. The Carnegie Middle East Center is part of a global network of policy research centers in Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, India, and the United States.
The Research Manager will lead the design and construction of an innovative online platform dealing with civil-military relations in Arab states. Applicants should have experience in designing and implementing research strategies relevant to turning the CMRAS program's intellectual framework into a concrete output. They must demonstrate the ability to head a team of researchers, oversee the collection and processing of different data streams, and turn these into a dynamic database within a strict timetable.
The successful candidate will have a PhD and five years' experience or have equivalent practical experience in a related field, but does not seek a conventional academic career. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a high level of initiative and autonomy, and s/he must have native Arabic or equivalent fluency. S/he must also be able to travel easily to Arab countries.
